I went to Lowe’s and got an 8’x4′ piece of 3/4″ plywood sheathing. Thankfully they cut it in half, so I could fit the two 4’x4′ pieces in the car.

Now that I have the shoulders printed, I need to get going on building the skirt. I had to measure and draw the base and top section using the measurements from the Dalek specs. To help make sure the lines were straight, and at the right distances, I used some clamps to hold the ruler in place. It took a long time, but I got it done. Now time to cut!

I cut a few of the lines, and when I hit a knot, it would be a bit harder to cut. As I continued cutting, the saw got stuck and I figured it was another knot and pressed forward. After a bit, I realized this is a lot harder than a knot to cut… I stopped, pulled out the saw, and when I lifted the piece to look at it… I had actually been cutting into the table! At least the table was plastic, and I didn’t cut far enough to hit the metal legs…

After cutting out the base part, I drilled holes at each corner of the top section, and proceeded to cut it out. Now I need to assemble the shoulders so I can mark where to cut the hole in the top section.
